JOHNNY DANCY
National Post-Grad Basketball Director and Head Coach
Johnny Dancy, a native of Chicago suburb, Matteson, IL, has always been a basketball enthusiast. He attended Rich South High School (Richton Park, IL) where he took his game to the next level. His basketball skills coupled with his strong leadership made him a four-time Varsity Letter winner and a Team MVP. After successfully playing NCAA Division III Basketball at Rockford University (Rockford, IL), Johnny transferred and served as an important member of the inaugural NAIA season for Governor’s State University (University Park, IL).
While wrapping up his playing career at Governors State University, Johnny became one of the youngest high school coaches ever in the State of IL, at 19 years old.
During his time in Chicago, Coach Dancy was able to establish himself as one of the elite young coaches in the Chicagoland Region, amassing over 100 Wins as the head coach in 6 seasons total (Rich South HS/Crete Monee HS). Perhaps more impressively, each team coached by Coach Dancy has found tremendous success in the classroom, never averaging a team GPA less than 3.00.
Coach Dancy has served as a Director for ALL IN Athletics, which was at the time, the largest Adidas-sponsored youth basketball program based out of Chicago. Following his role as a director, he began his own independent AAU program, Complete Elite Athletics, and found success within the Prep Hoops circuit.
During the 2021-22 Season, Coach Dancy began his career on the Postgraduate Level as he served as the National Head Postgraduate Basketball Coach for Southeast Missouri Preparatory School (Cape Girardeau, Missouri). While there, Coach Dancy’s program was able to amass major wins against other national preps, junior colleges, and NAIA’s. He was able to help a number of student-athletes achieve their goal of playing college basketball.
Coach Dancy has established great relationships within the United States and abroad within the basketball community. He is ecstatic to bring his resources and relationships as he enters his 1st season as the Head Postgraduate Basketball Coach for ISA.
